Dr. Mudassar Rehman completed his PhD in Mechanical Engineering
(Biological Additive Manufacturing Laboratory) at Northwestern Polytechnical University in year 2024. He has an
impressive portfolio of approximately 50 SCI-indexed Web of Science journal papers, with 15 papers published as the first or
co-first author in Q1 and Q2 Web of Science indexed and Chinese JCR journals. His collaborative efforts in various projects
have earned some of his journal papers the prestigious “ESI highly cited journal papers” award. Mr. Rehman boasts a Google
Scholar h-index of 15 and an i10-index of 20, with a growing total of 623 research citations as of Sep 19, 2024. His research
expertise spans additive manufacturing (3D printing), laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF or selective laser melting), novel
biomedical metal alloys (especially Beta Ti alloys), titanium and other metal matrix composites, novel biomaterials for
orthopedic implants, advanced materials processing, and both conventional and non-conventional machining processes,
including electric discharge machining (wire cut, die sinking). A regular participant in research conferences, academic forums,
and webinars, Mr. Rehman has also served as a reviewer for numerous high-quality WOS-indexed journals such as 3D Printing
and Additive Manufacturing, Journal of Manufacturing Processes, Materials Today Communications, Rapid Prototyping
Journal, International Journal of Advance Engineering Technology, and Progress in Additive Manufacturing. His academic
journey has been supported by a full Chinese government scholarship for his PhD studies. Additionally, Mr. Rehman has two
years of experience as a teaching research fellow at the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. His
ambition and research-oriented mindset are complemented by substantial industrial experience. Dr. Rehman’s primary goal is
to innovate in the design and fabrication of novel materials and processing technologies for biomedical implants, aiming to
meet the evolving demands of society.
